Where do I begin? Perhaps ill go from the start…
Mint: Hey guys, what are your plans on Saturday? It’s my birthday, are you up for doing some skids?
Us: Sure man! Great idea! Lets bring a tow rope just in case Jites decides to fly off the cliff….
We should stop saying stuff like that…
Met up with Jites before heading up into the mountains to meet up with Mr D and Minto San.
45 minutes of scraping later, we’re there. Late as usual
It is always hit and miss with the spot. 90% of the time it is dead with not a single soul around. But the other times, it almost feels like a highway. Last night was one of those ‘other’ days.
Nothing serious, just meant we could lifestyle a little bit more and take some shots.
Had a few runs….
And just as we were getting the hang of it…..
We inevitably got to the first cliff dive of the day.
Well technically it was more of a mixture of hill climbing/lawn mowing/ploughing, but we’re not here to get technical.
So we set about trying to think of a way to get the poor datsun out from the hill. Traditional towing didn’t do a thing, so we dug it out.
Many hours and a few exciting moments later (including Mints JZX & flat tyre trouble), good old datsun was back on the ground.
All strapped back together
Just in time for the sunrise.
To be honest…. Looks no different to the usual.
So we set off back to cilivization, with a few repair stops on the way.
Mainly to patch up the gaping crack in the intercooler with some minty.fresh stickers. Who said stickers don’t add power?
All in all, it was a great night. Definitely something to remember. And unquestionably a good birthday memory!! 😉
