Its coming. Finalboss Drift Matsuri held at Driftland in Scotland, UK.
Over the course of the last 6 months of so, a bunch of us have been prepping and upgrading our cars, to get them tuned in and ready for this weekend of banter.
FINALBOSS was an invite only sorta deal, Minty.Fresh were honoured to be invited along and figured we should probably bring our A game to the tables.. This would require alot of time, cash and seat time.
Minty.Fresh will be represented by 4 drivers on the weekend. Myself in the JZX100 Chaser, Mr D in his NA6 Eunos, Jites in his s14a and Pete, In his turbo charged SXE10 Altezza. This post will show you a few things we’ve been up to, to get things in place.. We’ve also got our spare MX5’s making the trip down and of course our resident media crew, Thacko and Kyle for all our photo/video needs.
First on the cards, lets have a quick scan of Jites s14, Since its been the longest going project to date.. and now looking to be pretty damm close to completion? 😉 Bar a few things.
Before; And after. This s14a is a import model, She originally rolled out Nissan’s doors sporting a SR20DE engine, So the non turbo. Since then, Its been one of Jites goals, to make this engine as sweet as it can be. Its obviously been turbo’d using a T28 turbo. Dizzy’s been swapped out for coil packs and all the other needed parts for the task. Jites is working on this today actually, swapping out a turbo stud and gasket. This car is probably the most setup car within Minty.Fresh. Mainly due to the amount of fully adjustable arms underside of this purple monster. Solid mounts, 2 way diff, uprated everything..
Next in the Line we Have Mr D. Some may recall Mr D purchased a certain green NA8 off me the other year, to which I then flipped.. (sorry again) .. Since then, Mr D picked up another MX5 Eunos, This time being the NA6 model. It turned up with some blown HSD coilovers, a weak diff and from memory.. not much else.
So as you can see now.. Mr D has spent almost every evening.. every weekend.. all his possible spare time over the winter and the last 6 months.. and its taken him here. Fully pollybushed, all arms powder coated, new coils, new bolts, ball joints, fuel lines, brakes, hubs basically.. anything under this car, has been changed out and made epic. He’s done a brilliant job on this car and I cant wait for him to get out on track and start abusing it! Nor can he I bet 😉
Another task Mr D did which I wanted to comment on, was his new intake setup. The OEM system if full of plastic pipes and boxes, Reducing the air flow rather dramatically. D got hold of an HKS filter and pipe work and then worked out his own route for taking in that cold air. Picture doesnt do it justice but its pretty sweet and simple setup now. I dont have any photos of the car as its due to be on this road THIS coming week.. I shall be back with some.
Now let me update you on a certain Altezza..
Pete’s our resident suspension setup engineer. After a lot of trial and error, he has this Altezza running sweet. Custom designed Knuckles by Pete himself are up front to give him all those locks on track..
Uprated front springs (20kg) and uprated rear (16kg) are keeping this car planted at the height its at. Tie that in with the mega aggressive fitment / camber and you have one mean looking altezza.
I heard his boost is now setup also and new clutch in, so he’s good to go for Finalboss!
Lastly, Its my own car. Which has sat.. for ages, doing nothing. :p
I still have a MASSIVE list of things to do before the weekend.. We’re now counting down to 2 weeks.. Thankfully TK sourced me a JZ clutch from a member of Garage Fuck House down the road, and its being collected and delivered today for me, so we should get that in next week..
Iv been changing a fair few things on this car since the last time she was drifted. Minty.Fresh knuckles up front, SXE10 ends, 20kg front springs, 15kg springs on the rear, 18×10 et0 rear wheels with some 205’s, Iv since lowered it more and increased the droop on the back. Still have arches to roll, fluids to change, alignment and a bunch of other stuff including my aero being re done.
It’ll be done though.. and Im itching to get behind the wheel and do some skids.
