Thankfully we aren’t talking about the extremely poor excuse for an 80’s/90’s pop group.
We however talking about Sophie’s S15 Spec S in the mega lightning yellow, now some of you may or may not know that Sophie is Minty.Fresh’s own Minto Sans better half. Which means the little spark of car love and modifying that Soph had before has now been magnified 10 fold by being around Mr “buy shit and make it work” Mint.
So when it came to selecting a car it wasn’t a hard choice for Soph, she has always liked yellow cars and she has wanted an S body for a long ass time. After seeing Mints she knew that is what she wanted and also knew that she would have a load of support when it came to modifying it.
Soph chose the N/A Spec S as opposed to the turbo Spec R, she has some reason’s why but the main one was that this particular S15 came along at the right time and was the right colour. I know so isn’t too worried bout the turbo powers either which is why she has focused more on the looks instead of the speed.
First up on the list is without a doubt probably the first thing you noticed ……. the wheels
Soph knew she wanted some dish but also wanted to be sensible over the cost, Rotas were off the grid as Mint would probably have cried had she put them on the S15. So it was XXR whos door Soph went knocking on for some of the fresh 526’s which they had just brought out. After some calculations 17×9 up front and 17×10 in the rear were chosen with a nice manly et20 to help them sit in the arches, the arches themselves received some tender rolling which Soph did herself with a little assistance from some beardy helpers.
The standard aero looks good but the OEM rear wing doesn’t quite cut it in the cool stakes, so Soph decided to ditch it in favour of the Dmax boot and roof spoilers you see here. It’s a combo Mint rocked and it still looks awesome 3 years on!
The Dmax whoring didn’t stop there though, Jesse Streeter hooked Soph up with the smoked rear lights which we haven’t seen on another S15 in the UK.
With the exterior subtle but sexy, the interior was the place Soph wanted to go a bit wild with. A Personal steering wheel joins a Yashio Factory gear knob with a complement of purple sparkle
Soph pulled the lower half of her dash to prep and paint it int he awesome sparkles you see now (she also wants to point out she was first to do this ……. MINT! lol) Soph also topped out the purple with stickers from the guys who helped her and inspired her to do what she has done.
So i think its fair to say Soph is heading in the right direction and we will be checking back with her just as soon as she decides on what hovercraft kit to rock!!
