Last Sunday after waking up with a mega hangover I decided to venture out to one of our local sprint events and grab some pics.
Once in the pits I forgot all about my headache and soaked in the smell of v power and the sound of roaring engines.
Fintray is a small twisty circuit based just outside of Aberdeen, it’s located in the grounds of Fintray house, the house itself is now derelict and the road is used for access to houses built on the site day to day. It has quite a rise in elevation
The classes are wide open, anything from completely standard road cars right through to mega single seat race cars.
It really is a good variety of cars for everyone to see
Donald McCaskill was back in his twin charged Evo V, this car really is spectacular
Dick Taylor is his Morgan 4/4 wasnt the fastest up the hill but he certainly looked to be having fun!
Colin Tullis was out in a car i had never seen before, an MNR Votx
It was super quick! was probably because it had this strapped to the side of the engine!
John Meldrum’s MGB roadster was representing the oldskool british contingent
Combine corner is always good for some tripod action, here Ian Rainnie’s Corsa air’s out its left rear
Single seaters come in all different shapes and sizes but one of the fastest was this Image FF5 driven by Keith Weeks
But it’s still the Evo which is the car of choice with six in attendance, my favourite of the day though was Steve Hunters WRC inspired Evo VII
With genuine Tommi Mak WRC front bumper and a 2.4 ltr stroked engine this car is super cool!
Keep your eyes peeled for a full feature on this soon.
The last car im gonna write about is a car that has been hillclimbing for a long time. Myself and Mint have know the driver Aonghus since our Honda days.
His Dc2 integra is a total balls to the walls sprint car, fully stripped out and running throttle bodies this car is a serious N/A beast!
This is a video of it attacking the hill! simple awesome!!
We will be getting a closer look at this teg too in the future!
And so with my headache finally gone, I ventured home to continue my recovery! LOL
