With this being my first year covering BDC properly I didn’t really know what to expect, yeah drifting obviously……..
But who would I meet, get to know and see improve within the season??
Well after checking into our hotel on the friday night myself and Niks hit the bar and bumped into four Irish guys, we asked if they were over for the BDC, they were and modestly said they were running two Ps13’s driven by Brian Cotter and Micheal Sheehan. With Niks being such a Nissan fanboi he started to ask the questions and what started as a little conversation grew into the feature we have for you today.
Lets start with Brian’s PS ……..
As you can see from the outside it rocks BN aero the front bumper, skirts, rear quarters and front wings the only exception is the rear bumper which is Origin. The car also rocks a One off BGW
It wears the drifters choice Rota GTR’s in 17″ diameter, 8″ up front and 9.5″ on the back
Lexan windows keep the weight down along with the carbon door cards
And gutted interior, a combo of sparco seat and OMP harness keep Brian in place when sideways
Should the worse happen an eight point rollcage and full plumbed in extinguisher also reside in the cabin
Pop the bonnet to find the front arches have been tubbed, the backs have also had the same treatment giving the wheels more room, the engine is where it is at though …..
Producing 400bhp at the flywheel thanks to forged internals,550cc Sard injectors and a HKS GT-SS turbo. The engine is coupled to a R33 Skyline Gearbox through a custom tunnel leading through a custom prop shaft into a Nismo 2 way diff.
Handling is taken care of by Sexy Style coilovers, Japspeed arms and rods, driftwork’s hubs and solid subframe mounts.
The car is finished off in Fiat Grey and custom graphics.
Micheal’s Ps follows a similar pattern to Brian’s
Full BN aero is fitted to the car, the rear bumper has been cut in half for no reason other than the bottom was broken haha.
Micheal opted for Rota Torqes 17″ in Diameter 8″ up front with 9.5″ in the rear.
Only a stripped interior will do for a drifter, the OEM door bars have been cut away to reduce weight in Micheal’s car..
Only the necessary switches remain along with a Hydro wand and Nismo gear knob.
Six point cage, OMP seat and OMP harness keeps him stationary middrift.
The engine in Micheal’s PS remains nearly standard apart from an HKS turbo, manifold, Greddy FMIC and walbro pump. he kept it this way so the car was more reliable and for him to enjoy drifting without any great expense (although it aint cheap to skid!)
Tein coilovers keep the wheels connected to the car with help from Driftwork’s hubs and Tein tie rods. Stopping is taken care of by Skyline brakes all round.
It certainly tucks tyre!
Its painted in the camera sensor loving orange you see before you which is a custom mix by Kenneth Murphy.
So we’ve looked at their cars but how did they do?? …………………. Well if you read previous articles you would know Micheal came 3rd in Pro class! unfortunately Brian didn’t place after being knocked out by Micheal in an epic OMT! Brian said though he was glad to be knocked out by his friend and not just some other guy.
The guys would like to thank ……… Drive and Style for the fitment of the aero and the D3 lads who were their neighbours in the pits for the weekend. The guys will be back over for a few more rounds and I for one can’t wait, awesome driving and awesome cars from two guys just out to have fun and enjoy destroying tyres!!
